I was introduced to lacrosse through Alan Luciuk, a pioneer in field lacrosse in Canada. After coaching in the Saskatoon Field Lacrosse system I moved to Kugluktuk, Nunavut in the Artic Circle.
In Kugluktuk we started a program known as the Grizzlies and from that moment my life changed. I watched students, athletes and great kids use sport to re-define themselves so they could reach amazing heights.
Personally I have been exposed to some of the games best players and coaches and had opportunities to learn the game from all angles. Some of the coaches and friends that have had the largest impact are Canadian Icons, Chris Sanderson, Kyle Miller, Brodie and Patrick Merrill, Paul Rai and Jimmy Quinlan to name a few.
I believe in a team that "controls the contollables" to coin a term from Brodie Merrill, and uses the fundamental expertise that you obtain through practice to excel on the field. The character of the player has to be a focal point, good kids do good things.
